The Fly Fishers International (FFI) Education Committee has been working very hard the past three years to develop new, innovative educational programs for councils, clubs, members, and the entire fly fishing community.
Our Education Committee's core belief is that through education, including both angling skills and environmental stewardship, fly fishing will grow and be preserved for future generations. Your financial support and generous donations will assist our education efforts in three areas:
LEARNING CENTER: FFI will introduce the Learning Center as both an in-person and on-line resource downloadable from our website. More than 40 presentations and teaching documents will be available this summer to help you hone your fly fishing skills and introduce people to our sport. Training modules in casting, fly tying, general skills and conservation will be available. In addition, FFI Women Connect and youth programs will be a focus of the new Learning Center.
EDUCATION AWARDS: FFI has established the Comprehensive Fly Fishing Skills Award to recognize individuals and/or clubs who demonstrate exemplary achievements in teaching others about fly fishing. Up to two awards may be given in this category each year.
EDUCATION GRANTS: FFI is introducing a new Education Grants program, similar to the successful Conservation Grants program. Grant applications will be available this year for councils and clubs.
Your financial support for these efforts will be greatly appreciated. Every dollar is important to us, and your help allows us to make a huge difference in fly fishing education. Please return the card with your donation or visit www.flyfishersinternational.org to contribute online. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Our most sincere thanks,
