Since 1964, Fly Fishers International (FFI) has been an organized voice for fly fishers around the world. We represent all aspect of fly fishing –from the art of fly tying and casting, to protection of the natural systems that support healthy fisheries and their habitats so essential to our sport. Today, our mission is to ensure the legacy of fly fishing for all fish in all waters continues by focusing on conservation, education and a sense of community.

A 501c3 non-profit organization originally called The International Federation of Fly Fishers, FFI is driven by three fundamental pillars: Conservation, Education, and Community. Together, these pillars provide the foundation for our vision of the future of fly fishing — a future in which anglers have access to prime waters and fish can thrive in healthy, protected habitats; in which learning never stops and artistry is not forgotten; and that recognizes the true value of camaraderie. Consistent with our mission, FFI is currently engaged in several important projects to preserve and promote the sport of fly fishing. Our efforts include:

• Teaming with conservation partners, defending policies to protect clean water, healthy fisheries habitat and fly fishing opportunities.
• Financial and volunteer support for conservation projects protecting habitat for all fish in all waters.
• Grant support for club and council conservation and education projects.
• Development of The Learning Center offering world class fly fishing curriculum to novice, intermediate and advanced fly fishers.
• Supporting fly fishing programs for younger anglers through college clubs, scholarships and fellowships.
